Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Charlotte Clean and Green Festival on Sunday! Our first event was a huge success! The Roots food truck offered delightful duck confit tacos topped with a fresh slaw and melt in your mouth grilled cheese sandwiches! Check out the photos below:

Hoop House Complete!

Craig and Benjamin have been working hard on building a hoop house to shelter seedlings before being transplanted to the Roots Farm. They recycled 100 year old pine from an old house in NODA. Click on the thumbnails below for larger picture.

   

Grand Opening This Sunday!

Join us for our grand opening at the Charlotte Clean and Green: An Earth Day Celebration festival rescheduled for Sunday, April 17th! We’ll be one of the various food vendors dishing out locally delicious duck (Ashley Farms – Winston Salem, NC) confit tacos topped with fresh slaw (Houston Farms – Huntersville, NC) and local grilled cheese sandwiches (Cheese – Holton Hollow Farm – Statesville, NC and Ashe County Cheese – West Jefferson); Bread – Nova’s Bakery – Charlotte, NC)! The Charlotte Clean and Green festival is located on the lawn of  the central campus of CPCC.

Welcome to Roots!

Roots is a company committed to providing good, local food to Charlotte. We do this through our farm as well as our food cart. Our farm is an Urban Agriculture Project just outside the city in the NODA district. Our produce will be available at the Yorkmont Farmer’s Market as well as the Atherton Market.

Our food cart is open daily for lunch in various locations across the city. Please check back to see where the cart is daily. We also provide full catering services centered around locally sourced food.
