Celebrate Good Times!

Hey hey hey…it’s Friday! Lucky for you peeps that work inside the Duke building, you don’t have to leave the a/c to get Roots for lunch today. We’ll be there on the 4th floor ready to feed your Friday face. Whatever that means.

Tonight we’ll be out at Sycamore Brewing, serving up food and listening to live music by Hunter’s Travesty! You should definitely plan to come through. Or if you have to get home, and don’t feel like cooking anything because you don’t want your house or you to get 1 degree warmer, stop by and grab something to go! Look out for that menu later on today.

Cold Turkey Thursday

Hi Charlottean friends! Yesterday was a fun and busy taco day, hope you enjoyed! We’re right back at the same spot uptown today, but we switched up the menu. Don’t want to spoil you by giving you tacos 2 days in a row.

Tonight is Thursty Thursday at Birdsong Brewing, so we’ll be there to fill your tummy with food to go with that delicious beer. That menu will be posted later, but I heard something about smoked wings and nachos, so get ready to rumble.

Newsflash! Tomorrow we will be serving lunch at a NEW spot, every other Friday. Right outside of One Day Surgery (1001 Blythe Blvd) from 11am-2pm. So plan on swinging by and treat yourself to a Friday lunch at Roots. And then a Friday dinner at Sycamore brewing…we’ll be there also. The Sycamore menu will be off the chain! Do people still say that? Craig’s on his way right now to Rowland’s Row farm to pick up some heirloom tomatoes, heirloom cucumbers, and banana peppers. He’s got something amazing planned, so check back tomorrow.

Taco Day is finally here!

Fact. If you work in uptown Charlotte, you’ve probably visited our food truck at least once. I know many of you frequent the truck on Wed and Thurs and we truly appreciate your support! If you haven’t made it out to a Taco Wednesday yet (*gasp!), know that you are invited to make it a part of your weekly lunch routine and you won’t regret it. And remember, if you have a gluten-free diet we will gladly serve your tacos over greens instead of in tortillas.

Need something fun to scroll through on your work break…or during that dull meeting…? Check out our friend Stephanie Haviv’s blog. She spent some time with our food truck and takes amazing photos!

For today’s menu we have so many great local ingredients to work with that Kyle and Craig could not decide what to make, so they both went home and came up with separate ideas, then came back to work and mashed them together. We can only take half of the credit for this menu, the other half goes to the farmers. We have to do less cooking when the ingredients are this good.

Three’s Company

Third wheel. 3 legged race. Triple run. 3 strikes. Three seems to be our new theme for Thursday, as we’ll be at 3 spots now! Let us help you! Interested in booking the food truck? Here’s some more deets, and email andrea@rootsfarmfood.com to inquire about your event.

Another important piece of knowledge is that we’ll also be in our Uptown spot tomorrow! Innovation Park will be happening too. AND Birdsong Brewing for supper time. Stay tuned for those menus later on. And we’d be thrilled to see your face today…and tomorrow.

Camp Food vs Roots

May I have your attention

Howdy friends! Got lots to share about this week. We hope you’ll be a part of it!

We will not be parking at Free More West today for lunch, I’m sorry! We have our grilling class tonight that we’re stoked about. Want a last minute spot? We may be able to squeeze you in. Next Tuesday the 14th we have a Cooking for Spring class. You can register for our classes HERE.

Tomorrow is Taco Wednesday, of course, so we’ll be uptown to take care of your taco withdrawals you’ve been having since last Wednesday. Thursday we’ll be at Innovation Park (university area) for lunch and then Birdsong Brewing for dinner. Were you at Birdsong on Saturday with the rest of Charlotte? That was quite the grand opening! Then Friday night we’ll be at Sycamore Brewing. What can we say, we love our breweries!

Ever been to a party at a farm? Or done a mud run? You can do either or both this Saturday right HERE. We’re excited to be there, and hope you’ll join us!
